FAQ's
Q) What if I am not a member of Midland Shooters Association (MSA)?
A)
On the day of the match you do not have to belong MSA to shoot. If you wish to
practice at MSA or practice at MSA using Comanche Trail Shootists's (CTS) props during
other times of the month you will need to join MSA. There are CTS members who live
in surrounding communities who do not belong to MSA as the drive to just practice is not
practical.
Q) I don't have a costume?
A)
No body has a complete costume when they start. A simple pair of blue jeans, any
type of boots and a long sleeve shirt is a good start. You have plenty of time, club
rules is 1 year, to decide the look you want.
Q)
What do I do if I don't have two 6 guns, a rifle, shotgun, and holster rig?
A)
Again few people have everything thing they need on day one. You will find that
everyone is more than happy to share equipment and many members have spares you can borrow
during the match.
Q)
What if I am not the best shot in the world? Will I fit in with the group?
A)
Ofcourse you'll fit in. You will find that we have shooters with a variety of skill
levels from expert to beginner. The most important thing is safety...other than that
we just have fun.
Q) I am kinda young or kinda old. Is this a good sport for me?
A) We have all ages in the club from 12 to...well...lets just say old
enough. Nothing we do is strenuous or requires any great physical ability.
Q)
My guns need some work before I feel comfortable using them in a match. Where can I
find a good gunsmith?
A)
We suggest you talk with Bob Miller at Action Sports
(563-GUNS), aka Curly Sackett. He can take
care of most all your firearm needs.
Q)
I don't have an alias yet and I am not a member of SASS. Should I still come out to
the shoot?
A) Deciding on an alias is perhaps the hardest part of the game. You
can do some research to find an authentic name or just make one up. Though we
recommend you become a member of SASS it is certainly not manditory and you can shoot with
any alias or no alias. If you plan on joining SASS we recommend you hold off on
deciding on an alias until SASS approves it, meaning no one else already has it, so that
you won't be changing alias's right off the bat.

So come on out and take a look or grab what you have and join in on the fun.....
Mandatory meeting for all shooters begins at: 9:30 AM on the first Saturday of each month [Calendar]. The match will begin approximately 30 minutes after the safety meeting.
